Statement of Faith
We believe in one God, who manifests in three persons, the Holy Trinity: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God revealed Himself to us through the Bible, His inspired Word: He is the Creator, a Sovereign God, who is good, perfect and has no beginning or end. He created Adam and Eve, the first human couple, who chose to disobey his orders tempted by the evil one, Satan. Sin entered the world, and the world became cursed and corrupted. The consequences of sin were death, spiritual darkness, a broken relationship with God and additional punishment tailored to the man and the woman, as well as the serpent. God by His grace promised a Savior in His only son, Jesus. He came more than 2000 years ago and was crucified though he committed no sin. God made Him a sacrifice for our sins, so if anyone believes in Jesus they would be saved and given eternal life. God raised Jesus on the third day after He was crucified, and His glorious resurrection provided complete victory over Satan and death. Jesus appeared before many witnesses after his resurrection, and before He returned to Heaven, He promised the coming of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. Pentecost (the outpouring of the Holy Spirit) marks the birth of the church.
Those who believe in Jesus and turn away from their sins in true repentance, become born again, and get adopted into God’s family. As a commitment to obedience believers show their faith publicly in adult baptism. They join a body of believers, a local church for fellowship and ministry. The Holy Spirit guides them and makes the Scriptures relevant for them, leading them in truth and love. When a believer dies on this earth, their soul gets reunited with God in Heaven and they await the resurrection of their body in the company of other believers who had gone before them. Jesus promised that He was going to come back again, the second time, as King and Ruler over the earth and He will establish His government. There will be a Judgement Day when everyone will be judged according to their actions in life. Those who chose Jesus as their Savior will go to Heaven for an eternity, and those who rejected Him will be in Hell for an eternity. In light of this truth, Jesus commanded His followers to spread the good news of Him to all nations and make disciples for Him, because God doesn’t want anyone to perish but to have eternal life with Him.
